প্রাথমিক জীবন ও শিক্ষা:
নূর মোহাম্মদ আবু তাহেরের জন্ম দুপচাঁচিয়া উপজেলার গুনাহার ইউনিয়নের পালুগ্রামে। তার পিতার নাম মাওলানা জালাল উদ্দিন আহম্মেদ এবং মাতার নাম তাহেরা বেগম। তিনি তালুচ সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় থেকে প্রাথমিক শিক্ষা এবং তালুচ এ.এ.ই.ইউ.এম উচ্চ বিদ্যালয় থেকে এসএসসি পাশ করেন। পরবর্তীতে রাজশাহী সরকারি সিটি কলেজ থেকে উচ্চ মাধ্যমিক এবং জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে অ্যাকাউন্টিং অ্যান্ড ইনফরমেশন সিস্টেমস বিষয়ে স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর ডিগ্রি অর্জন করেন। এছাড়াও তিনি ঢাকা আইন কলেজ থেকে এলএলবি ডিগ্রি সম্পন্ন করেছেন বলে জানা যায়।
রাজনৈতিক জীবন:
ছাত্রজীবন থেকেই নূর মোহাম্মদ আবু তাহের রাজনীতির সাথে সক্রিয়ভাবে জড়িত। তিনি বাংলাদেশ ইসলামী ছাত্রশিবিরের জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় শাখার দপ্তর সম্পাদক এবং ছাত্রশিবিরের কেন্দ্রীয় কমিটির তথ্য ও প্রযুক্তি বিভাগের সদস্য হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করেছেন বলে জানা যায়। পরবর্তীকালে, তিনি বাংলাদেশ জামায়াতে ইসলামীর দুপচাঁচিয়া উপজেলা শাখার যুব বিষয়ক সম্পাদকের দায়িত্ব পালন করেন এবং বর্তমানে বগুড়া জেলা জামায়াতের সদস্য হিসেবে সক্রিয় রয়েছেন।
২০২২ সালের ৫ জানুয়ারি অনুষ্ঠিত ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ নির্বাচনে তিনি ৮৩% ভোট পেয়ে গুনাহার ইউনিয়নের চেয়ারম্যান নির্বাচিত হন।
পেশাগত জীবন:
রাজনীতির পাশাপাশি নূর মোহাম্মদ আবু তাহের একজন উদ্যোক্তা ও প্রকাশক হিসেবেও পরিচিত। তিনি দেশের প্রকাশনা সংস্থা ‘গার্ডিয়ান পাবলিকেশনস’-এর ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক। উল্লেখ্য, কিছু সূত্রে তার প্রকাশনা প্রতিষ্ঠানের নাম ‘গাইডলাইন পাবলিকেশনস’ হিসেবে উল্লেখ করা হলেও একাধিক গণমাধ্যমের প্রতিবেদন অনুযায়ী সঠিক নাম ‘গার্ডিয়ান পাবলিকেশনস’। এছাড়াও, তিনি পশ্চিম বগুড়ার অন্যতম চিকিৎসা কেন্দ্র দুপচাঁচিয়া ইসলামিয়া হসপিটাল অ্যান্ড ডায়াগনস্টিক সেন্টারের ব্যবস্থাপনা পরিচালক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন।
সামাজিক কার্যক্রম:
নূর মোহাম্মদ আবু তাহের একজন সমাজসেবী হিসেবেও পরিচিত। তার নেতৃত্বে বিভিন্ন সামাজিক ও উন্নয়নমূলক কর্মকাণ্ড পরিচালিত হয়েছে বলে জানা যায়, যার মধ্যে রয়েছে মসজিদ ও অজুখানার নির্মাণ, দরিদ্রদের মাঝে টিউবওয়েল, বস্ত্র ও ঈদ সামগ্রী বিতরণ এবং মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থীদের শিক্ষাবৃত্তি প্রদান।

Noor Mohammad Abu Taher is a Bangladeshi politician, entrepreneur, and publisher. He is a nominated Member of Parliament candidate from Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the Bogura-3 constituency (Adamdighi-Dupchanchia). Currently, he serves as the elected chairman of the No. 05 Gunahar Union Parishad in Dupchanchia Upazila.
Early Life and Education:
Noor Mohammad Abu Taher was born in the village of Palugram, within Gunahar Union of Dupchanchia. His father is Maulana Jalal Uddin Ahmmed, and his mother is Tahera Begum. He completed his primary education at Taluch Government Primary School and his SSC (Secondary School Certificate) from Taluch A.A.E.U.M. High School. Subsequently, he passed his HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) from Rajshahi Government City College. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Accounting & Information Systems from Jagannath University. He is also reported to have obtained an LLB degree from Dhaka Law College.
Political Career:
Noor Mohammad Abu Taher has been actively involved in politics since his student days. He is reported to have served as the office secretary of the Jagannath University branch of Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir and as a member of the central committee’s Information and Technology department. Later, he served as the youth affairs secretary for the Dupchanchia Upazila branch of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and is currently an active member of the Bogura district Jamaat.
In the Union Parishad elections held on January 5, 2022, he was elected chairman of Gunahar Union with 83% of the vote.
Professional Life:
Alongside his political career, Nur Mohammad Abu Taher is known as an entrepreneur and publisher. He is the Managing Director of the publishing house ‘Guardian Publications’. It is worth noting that while some sources mention his company as ‘Guideline Publications,’ multiple media reports confirm the correct name is ‘Guardian Publications’. Additionally, he serves as the Managing Director of the Dupchanchia Islamia Hospital & Diagnostic Center, a notable medical facility in western Bogura.
Social Activities:
Noor Mohammad Abu Taher is also recognized as a social worker. He is known to have led various social and development initiatives, including the construction of mosques and ablution areas (Wudu Khanas), distribution of tube wells, clothing, and Eid supplies to the needy, and providing scholarships to meritorious students.
